Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with AS Scientific Products, Ltd., of the United Kingdom, for acquisition of two (2) Replacement Furnace Elements and one (1) set of Eight Heat Screens. The Furnace Elements and Heat Screens will be used by the NIST Center for Neutron Research at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland.*****Sole source determination is based on the need for the Furnace Elements is Niobium fitted with element arms of 8? and 8.5? respectively and ceramic insulation. Also, the need for the set of Eight Heat Screens shall be completed and assembled for high temperature neutron scattering furnace.*****Delivery is required within 90 days or less after receipt of order (ARO) and shall be made FOB destination.*****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 Employees.*****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by October 29, 2002, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*****
