Description
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has a requirement for Quality Assurance (QA) Support to designated Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division programs. This requirement is being set aside 100 percent for small businesses. The CJIS Division is responsible for operating and maintaining a comprehensive criminal information database available to law enforcement officials. CJIS serves over 90,000 Federal, state, local, and international law enforcement agencies and related entities. The CJIS Division is a data repository maintaining fingerprint files for over 32 million subjects. The CJIS Division performs identification checks for both criminal and civil requests. The CJIS Division is currently operating and maintaining several state-of-the-art information technology (IT) systems which contain sensitive information. Also, the FBI is operating and maintaining a variety of computer networks which provide connectivity, communications, and security for the IT systems. The IT systems and networks are linked to a wide network of users (both domestic and international). The requirement for QA support is to assist in the QA of the IT systems and to assist in facilitating the goals of the QA program. The QA support personnel shall have knowledge and expertise in overall principles, practices, and methodologies to include software testing, development of test plans, test cases, performing audits, independent validation and verification, and the relationship between QA and Configuration Management. The support shall be provided to the CJIS Division on-site at 1000 Custer Hollow Road, Module C-3, Clarksburg, West Virginia 26306. The period of performance will be from date of contract award through September 30, 2003, with four one-year optional periods. NOTE: This requirement was previously advertised in the Commerce Business Daily as RFP602991 on May 18, 2001 and subsequently cancelled by Fedbizopps announcement dated November 14, 2001. Parties who expressed an interest as a result of the previous advertisement are required to re-submit their notification of interest as no mailing list was maintained from the previous advertisement.
