- Description
- The NAVAIR Orlando Training Systems Division (NOTSD) requires development, fabrication, testing and logistics support for the Virginia Class Submarine (VSSN) Emergency Diesel Generator Control Panel (DGCP) Front Panel Simulator (FPS). The successfully tested and completed trainer shall be delivered to NAVSUBSCOL, New London, CT. The primary use of this trainer will be to teach operation, casualty and degraded modes, maintenance, engine troubleshooting and fault isolation skills. The diesel engine generator set simulation software will be used to simulate a diesel operational engine (Caterpillar 3512B). The student station will receive simulated inputs as if a real engine were connected. The student station configuration will include the diesel generator control panel, the diesel local control panel, the laptop computer system and a two-dimensional photo engraved engine generator mockup. The DLCP will have the physical appearance of the tactical DLCP and will simulate or stimulate the operations of the tactical DLCP. Attached to the top of the DLCP will be the engine vision interface module. This module will link data to the DGCP. Other modules linking to the DLCP are the electronic control modules, the versatile control module and the integrated temperature sensor module. The DLCP will provide necessary data to the laptop computer system. This data will enable correct diagnostic processing with the CAT Electronic Technician (ET) Tool. The interface between the Caterpillar ET Tool and the DLCP is proprietary and the government does not own the documentation to support it. There will be no government furnished equipment or government furnished information in the production of this system. Interested companies should respond with the following information: 1) Past performance on government contracts of like or similar nature; 2) Whether your company intends to bid as a prime or subcontractor; 3) Size and status (based on the related small business size standard of 750 employees). 4) Describe ability to develop the logistics elements required to support this trainer. These elements include configuration management, provisioning, and operation and maintenance documentation.
