Description

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has a requirement for inspection of approximately 4,200 USPS Air Cargo Containers (A2, AMJ, LD-7, and Lexan) located throughout the country for compliance to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air worthiness and USPS standards solicited under Solicitation No.: 3CMTEQ-03-A-0231. The basic contract will be for a period of approximately 18 months with two (2) 2-year options that may be exercised concurrently or after the basic contract year. The inspection process will involve a thorough inspection and reporting of the containers' condition in order to obtain fixed price quotes for the repair of units not meeting the standards. A majority of the inspections will occur between February 1 and April 1 of each year. Additional and supplemental inspections may be required throughout the year. Evaluation factors will include, but not limited to, technical approach, supplier capability, and price. The USPS will make an award to an independent supplier to repair those containers found not to meet standards. Requests for Solicitation No.: 3CMTEQ-03-A-0231 must be made in writing via fax to: ATTN ANDREA M JOHNSON on (202) 268-3888 by November 1, 2002. Absolutely, no telephone requests will be accepted. The solicitation will be issued approximately by November 18, 2002, with a 30-day due date for receipt of proposals.
