- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard Aircraft Repair and Supply Center (ARSC) is requesting industry information on the latest integrated communications, navigation, identification, mission data management, flight management, and flight director/flight coupling systems for a cockpit avionics upgrade to its fleet of 42 HH-60J aircraft. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. It is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an indication that the Coast Guard will contract for this system. This RFI requests technical information of Non-Developmental Item (NDI) integrated communications, navigation, identification, mission data management, flight management, and flight director/flight coupling systems currently within industry. The information obtained will be used to identify potential systems that may be used to upgrade the HH-60J aircraft cockpit avionics. Present Coast Guard plans call for a cockpit avionics upgrade to the HH-60J aircraft fleet to begin in Spring 2005 and continue until 2010. Interested parties should provide the following: relevant information on an integrated communications, navigation, identification, mission data management, flight management, and flight director/flight coupling system; a preliminary higher level system specification and a description of its integration into the HH-60J aircraft; a description of how the respondent would accomplish automatic flight director coupling for flight plan following to include search and rescue patterns and approach to a hover; clear identification of where the proposed system is presently being used in actual operational conditions, or if the respondent has an alternative system for consideration that is not in true actual operational use, then the respondent may describe this system and must clearly indicate its actual developmental status; and budgetary pricing for this RFI no later than 31 December 2002. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with this RFI. All information received in response to this announcement will be kept confidential and will not be returned. Additionally, the ARSC, HH-60J Product Line encourages potential respondents to present presentations, provide their solutions, or gather feedback at our facility. The HH-60J aircraft can be made available for inspection and evaluation of integration details provided an appointment is made with the Contracting Officer or his designated representative. To arrange a meeting or site visit to view the Aircraft, contact the Contracting Officer. Contracting Officer, Mr. Curt Gruver, phone at 252-335-6642, cgruver@arsc.uscg.mil.
