Description
Provide acute and chronic hemodialysis services for the VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia, for the period February 1, 2003 through January 31, 2004, with one 1-year option to extend. Contractor will be responsible for providing inpatient dialysis to both intensive care unit (ICU) and non-ICU patients at the VA Medical Center. Contractor will also be responsible for providing outpatient chronic dialysis services at the Contractor's Dialysis Center. In addition to scheduled times, acute dialysis services shall be provided on an on-call basis upon 2 hours notice to Contractor, 24 hours per day/7 days per week. Contractor shall provide equipment necessary to render acute dialysis services, including, but not limited to, portable dialysis machines, water treatment and ancillary equipment, and plumbing fittings necessary to access and utilize the VA's water supply. Contractor staff must be duly licensed and qualified nurses or qualified technicians, trained in extracorporeal therapy including acute and chronic dialysis treatment. All Contractor staff must be appointed and credentialed by the VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia, per nursing policy and procedure. A technical proposal will be required. Technical evaluation criteria consists of evidence that Contractor can provide staffing of acute and chronic dialysis units; evidence that Contractor can provide the full spectrum of acute and chronic services 24 hrs/7 days a week; evidence that Contractor chronic dialysis centers are directed by physicians who are board-certified by the American Board of Nephrology; evidence that the Contractor complies with all JCAHO standards; evidence of US citizenship; a business and experience review to include number of years in business, overall clinical capabilities and geographic accessibility in Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama; past performance; and cost/price. The anticipated issue date is November 8, 2002. Request for hard copy solicitation and/or inquiries must be in writing to the Contracting Officer and will be accepted by fax at 706-481-6741.
