- Description
- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission intends to enter into a contract with Pennsylvania State University, on a sole source basis, to allow the contractor to continue conducting reflood tests and other related tests using the existing rod bundle test facility located at the University. The additional testing is necessary in order to develop a good reflood model for NRC's consolidated thermal hydraulic code. The period of performance will be for two years, with three, one-year option periods. This contract is a follow-on to Contract No. NRC-04-98-041, which provided for the construction of a rod bundle test facility and approximately 30 reflood tests were conducted by the University. Pennsylvania State University is the only known qualified source possessing the knowledge, expertise, and has the necessary rod bundle test facility to perform the required work. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Requests for copies of the solicitation will not be honored unless the respondent provides evidence showing their capability to perform the required services. See Note 22. *****
