Description
MT PRA-GLAC 10(17) & 10(18), GOING TO THE SUN ROAD WALL REPAIR, PHASE III & PHASE IV, Glacier National Park, Flathead County, Montana. This Solicitation is being advertised for full and open competition, on an unrestricted basis. PRELIMINARY PLANS ARE BEING ISSUED IN ELECTRONIC FORMAT ONLY AND WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD SOME TIME AFTER OCTOBER 28, 2002, BY ACCESSING FedBizOpps AT http://www1.eps.gov/spg/DOT/FHWA/WFL/postdate_1.html AND SELECTING THE ABOVE PROJECT NUMBER AND TITLE. The project will be bid with two schedules. Work consists of 1 km of grading, drainage, base, paving, and walls. The project includes construction survey & staking; contractor sampling & testing; contractor quality control; construction schedules; 725 m silt fence; 100 ea sandbags; 12,000 cu m watering for dust control; removal of the following: 10 m asphalt curb, 3 ea pipe culvert, 4 ea stockpiling of signs, 1 ea temporary steel beam support system, 130 m concrete barrier, 6 m concrete barrier guardwall, 144 m wooden guardrail, 240 m stone masonry guardwall, 330 sq m stone masonry on retaining wall, and 2,200 sq m asphalt pavement; 740 cu m roadway excavation; 300 cu m subexcavation; 620 t select borrow; 700 sq m earthwork geotextiles; 150 cu m structure excavation; 100 cu m structural backfill; 5 cu m riprap; 80 ea permanent ground anchors; 15 sq m reinforced concrete retaining walls; 920 t minor crushed aggregate; 400 t minor hot asphalt concrete; 15 sq m structural concrete color finish; 20 sq m wire reinforced shotcrete; 130 m micropile; 60 cu m minor concrete structures; 50 m pipe culvert; 2 ea end sections; 3 ea concrete catch basin; 50 sq m geocomposite sheet drain system; 200 m collector pipe; 20 m outlet pipe; 1 ea cleaning culverts in place; 100 m concrete gutter; 280 m removable guardrail; 10 cu m rubble masonry; 90 m stone masonry guardwall; 350 sq m stone masonry wall; 200 sq m repointing stone masonry wall; 30 sq m remove & reset stone masonry; 60 sq m topsoil; 4 ea snowpole holder; 920 m permanent pavement markings; 4 ea signal system; 240 days traffic & safety supervisor; 15,000 flagger hours, 3,800 pilot car hours; 5 cu m pumped grout; 15 m drilled holes; 26 m rock dowels; and other smaller items of work. Project is located approximately 60 km northeast of Columbia Falls, Montana. Work shall be completed by October 15, 2004. Estimated price range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Note that the Going to the Sun Road at this project site is closed for the season. Access to the project site must be obtained by calling the Park Information/Dispatcher Center at 406-888-7801. Park personnel will then arrange for access to the project sites. The latest date for viewing the project sites shall be November 5, 2002. Trips to the project site should be arranged with the Park and made as soon as possible, due to impending bad weather conditions. WHEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS ARE ISSUED, THE INVITATION FOR BID (SPECIFICATIONS) AND BIDDER'S PACKET WILL BE IN ELECTRONIC FORMAT ONLY AT THE ABOVE SITE. PENDING FINALIZATION OF DETAILS TO MAKE PLANS AVAILABLE ELECTRONICALLY, FINAL PLANS WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE IN PAPER FORMAT.
