Description
The USDA Forest Service, Shasta-Trinity National Forest is issuing this sources sought announcement in anticipation of a requirement for a Project Manager to oversee the development of the Scenic Byways Discovery Center in Mt. Shasta, CA. The U.S. Forest Service is the designated Lead Agency for the design and construction of the Volcanic Legacy/Interpretative Center which will be approximately 20,000 s.f. including theater, learning center, gift store, exhibit halls, trip planning facilities, etc. It is anticipated that the project may begin in 2003 and be completed within four years or less. The Project Manager is responsible for coordination of community partners including city, county, state, and federal agencies, as well as private non-profit organizations and advisory groups. The Project Manager must have demonstrated familiarity with local, state, and federal environmental and planning regulations and programs, as well as architectural/exhibit planning and design. The Project Manager will work closely with USFS personnel including, but not limited to, engineering, contracting, budget, heritage resources and various levels of management. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT IS ISSUED ONLY FOR PURPOSES OF MARKET RESEARCH AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A COMPLETE SCOPE OF WORK IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT OBLIGATED TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR MAKE ANY CONTRACT AWARD(S) IN THE FUTURE.
