- This is a request for quotation number 674-34-03 for the purchase of one each biomaterials testing system(MTS Alliance RT-5 Static and Limited Dynamic Testing system or equal) with the following salient characteristics: 1) Tabletop design: maximum height, 72=94, depth 29=94, 2) Dual columns mounted crosshead; 3) AC brushless servomotor, 120v; 4) Direct Drive System; 5) 5kN and 1kN load cells, auto-calibrating; 6) Data acquisition- Windows compatible computer (min); Pentium 4, 1.7 GHz; 256 MB Ram, 20 GB hard drive, 17=94 flat panel monitor; Windows 2000; 7) Displacement gage; 8) 3 and 4-point flex fixture; 9)=20 Tensile grips (2 each) (mechanical, screw action); 10) Face sets =96 (1) diamond, (2) line contract; 11) Laser extensometer. Item is required for research and development of dental materials. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Vendors who have an equal product should provide sufficient catalog and specifications to allow comparison to assure that the product offered is equal to the above manufactured by MTS Systems Corporation, 14000 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344-2290. This solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2001-09.=20 Quotes are solicited for FOB Destination, delivery to Naval Dental Research Institute, Attn: Kim Diefenderfer, 310-A =93B=94 Street, Building 1H, Great Lakes, IL 60088-5259. The following provisions apply to this RFQ: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial (2) FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications =96 Commercial items, a completed copy of which shall be included with the offer, 3)=20 FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Items 4) FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders =96 Commercial Items. This acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Quotations are due 10/9/02 at 12 noon CST at the following address: Chief, Purchasing and Contracting (004BPC), Olin E. Teague Veterans Center, 1901 Veterans Memorial Drive, Temple, TX 76504.
