Description
NA The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources for supplying the U.S. Army with defense grade nitrocellulose (NC) for munitions precursor supplies for high zone Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS). Respondents should be currently capable of manufacturing NC, Type 1, Grade A and/or Grade B and defined by MIL-DTL-244B, Nitrocellulose, dated 12 November 1996. These nitrocelluloses are used as feedstocks to manufacture combustible cases for propelling charges and manufacturing M30A2 propellant. Respondents should have production capacity of at least 10,000,000 pounds of NC per year. Interested companies that believe they can meet the NC requirements specified above shall provide the U.S. Army a detail description (chemical and physical properties) of their NC, type and description of the cellulose(s) used, and a brief summary of their company?s capabilities including description of facilities, personnel, past production experience and environmental compliance as it relates to the product (s). Respondents should also provide the U.S. Army the estimated time it would take to supply a sample and a suggested sample size. A follow-up detailed questionnaire may be provided to survey respondents and on-site visits may be performed as a result of further analysis. Also, interested firms should provide the manufacture?s name, address, point-of-contact with telephone number and e-mail address, size of business (small/large) and country where the facility is located. The information must be submitted within 30 calendar days from the date of this publication to: U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC AMSTA-AR-WES, ATTN: Mr. Robert E. Goldberg, Office of the Project Manager, Combat Ammunition Systems, Bldg. 171 Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, USA, e-mail: regold@pica.army.mil.
