- NA SYNOPSIS INFORMATION FOR SOLE SOURCE SOLICITATION PROJECT: OUTLET WORKS MODIFICATIONS, FOLSOM DAM, CA 1. This is not an Announcement. This is a Notice of Intent to contract with MBK Engineers, a Sole Source A-E, for follow-on design for the following reasons. 2. Specialized experience and technical competence required: (1) Enlargement of outlet works for concrete gravity dams; (2) Internal and external bulkhead designs solutions subjected to high hydrostatic head; (3) Excavation methods and procedures in unrei nforced mass concrete; (4) Dynamic analysis techniques for concrete gravity dams as developed by Dr. Anil Chopra; (5) Waterstop repair techniques for mass concrete structures, Structural Engineering, registered to practice in the appropriate professional f ield in the State of California. Knowledge of Corps of Engineers? dam criteria, and familiarization with all features of the proposed project, the radial gate and stilling basin repair designs, the seismic evaluations to date, and the proposed outlet gate and bulkhead gate designs, knowledge of slide and radial gates of a size and subject to the seismic loading similar to the subject project. 3. Submission Requirements: Limit the submission of the SF255 to 20 pages. 4. Responses to this Notice of Intent must discuss the qualifications of your firm in relation to each of the qualifications listed above to be received by October 16, 2002.
