Description
The initiative is to provide a full line food distribution contract (except for produce) for several military and Federal sites in Illinois (Great Lakes Naval Training Center and Hospital, and Joliet Job Corps Center), Wisconsin (Blackwell Job Corps Center), Ohio (Cleveland Job Corps Center) and Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh Job Corps Center). The upcoming solicitation will incorporate two separate groups (two zones): Zone 1 will include those activities in Illinois and Wisconsin which is estimated at a base year dollar value of $28.5 million; Zone 2 will include those activities in Ohio and Pennsylvania at an estimated dollar value of $1.5 million. The groups or zones will be awarded separately. The distribution support will include but not be limited to fresh and frozen meats and poultry, frozen seafood, semiperishable products, various other subsistence general products, fresh bakery and fresh dairy products. The fresh bakery and dairy products, if not a regular product of the prime vendor, may be supplied by a distributor through the Prime Vendor. This procurement will be for one year plus five one-year options and will be evaluated using a tradeoff process (formerly known as best value source selection). This acquisition will result in an indefinite quantity contract with a 10% guaranteed minimum. Unrestricted acquisition. A pre-proposal conference will take place at a date and time set forth in the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit proposals, which will be considered by the Agency. Anticipated issue date is 21 November 2002. Availability of solicitations, FAR 5.102(d), applies, as this office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Offeror should register to receive notification of this solicitation or solicitation amendments. Copies of this solicitation can be found on the DLA Procurement Gateway at http://progate.daps.mil/home after 21 November 2002. From the Gateway homepage, select "Search RFPs" from the left-hand sidebar. Then choose the RFP you wish to view. You must be registered in order to download RFPs.
