Description

NA The work consists of constructing a series of rock breakwater and sill shoreline protection structures at Jamestown Island, Virginia. The total length of the structures is approximately 11,000 linear feet at approximately 40 different locations. The struct ures shall be constructed of 150 to 1500 lb. graded riprap stone. In addition, approximately 150,000 sq. ft. of vegetated wetlands shall be established. Environmental permits have been obtained by the Government and must be complied with by the Contracto r. The following Special Condition shall be strictly adhered to. Special Condition: No work may occur between December 1 through June 30 of any year to protect nesting Bald Eagles, EXCEPT on sites 1-1, 4-17 thru 4-21, 3-1 thru 3-13, and the New Towne Re vetment, where work may occur year round. Bald Eagles and other native species that might be encountered in the scheduled work areas are protected by federal law or are species of special concern for Commonwealth of Virginia agencies. All work to be perf ormed on this contract shall be planned and accomplished in a manner to not disturb the nesting or foraging activities of these birds, marine life and wildlife in any way. The Contractor shall be required to maintain the beach and ocean work areas in a ma nner to ensure the safe access and egress of the public for the duration of the contract. A pre-bid conference will not be conducted; however, upon request the Contracting Office will coordinate a formal site visit. Please note that all sites cannot be acc essed by land. Magnitude of construction is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Duration of the project is 540 calendar days for performance. This is an Unrestricted Procurement. Applicable SIC code is 1629, with a size standard of $27.5 million. The NAICS code is 23499. The solicitation will be available on the internet only. No paper copies or CDs will be issued.
