- Description
- This announcement provides clarification for the MRUUV Presolicitation Notice released on October 15, 2002. NAVSEA intends to use full and open competition to award a single MRUUV Development Contract. Execution of this contract will consist of two phases. The first phase will design, fabricate and test a single Advanced Development UUV (ADUUV) to support risk reduction of the 21? Mission Reconfigurable UUV (21? MRUUV) System. After completion of testing, the ADUUV will transition to the Fleet in support of emergent operations, Fleet tactics development, and future payload demonstration. The second contract phase will be a priced option, which NAVSEA will exercise after successful completion of an ADUUV design review and completion of a total contract Integrated Baseline Review (IBR). NAVSEA anticipates exercising this option approximately six months after contract award. The second phase will design, fabricate and test the final 21? MRUUV System. Successful completion of this phase will deliver an MRUUV System ready for Fleet operations. The point of contact is James E. Watkins, Code 02633W; Naval Sea Systems Command; 1333 Isaac Hull Avenue SE, Stop 2050; Washington Navy Yard, DC 20376-2050; fax number: (202) 781-4773, e-mail address: WatkinsJE@navsea.navy.mil.
