- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR 3-AXIS, 3-CHANNEL LOAD CELLS. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer the following questions. Q1. How many electrical outputs are needed at the connector? i.e. three outputs only for Fx, Fy & Fz? or six outputs for Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My & Mz? A1. Only three channels of data (electrical outputs) for Fx, Fy, and Fz. Q2. What type of connector(s) are needed? MS type, D Subminiature, Lemo type? Can there be more than one connector? A2. If you have a connector on sensor side, it must be positively locking and metallic. If there is no connector on the sensor side, it must provide a 10 ft long, Teflon insulated, strain relieved cable. There in no requirement to have a connector on the free end of the cable. Q3. The 4 holes that have 0.256 dia thru hole, do they have to be accessible from the inside? A3. Not sure if I am interpreting the question correctly, if the question is can you have a blind hole verses a through hole that is that has access to put a wrench on top to secure a fastener, the yes. If the blind hole has an A286 1/4"-28, insert with 1/2" thread engagement. Q4. Is testing required for each of the axis including the Force & Moment axis? in both directions for each of the axis? A4. Yes, testing and calibration are required for each axis, for each load cell per gov standard as stated in spec. Q5. Since higher sensitivity for Fx, Fy, and Fz is desirable, can we offer amplified (external or internal) output such as +/- 5VDC at the rated capacities? A5. No, our system already provides external amplification. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 11/5/02. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office 97 format and reside on the World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
