- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for technical assistance for the Mass Spectrometry Data Center's support of the broad community of European users of the NIST/EPA/NIH Mass Spectral Library and the Automatic Mass Spectral Deconvolution and Identification Software (AMDIS). These users include instrument manufacturers and software firms that incorporate the database and AMDIS in their own products, as well as individual analytical chemists who rely on the database and AMDIS as an aid to the identification of chemical compounds using the technique of mass spectrometry. The contractor shall carry out technical functions designed to better serve the database users; conduct an annual technical study of each database distributor; develop methods for using NIST's database and AMDIS software with commercial data systems; and participate in the acquisition of reference mass spectra and related data. Knowledge of MS and GC/MS and of the NIST AMDIS and MS database is required. The contract will be for one base year and 4 one-year option periods. A detailed statement of work (SOW) will be available in the solicitation. It is anticipated that solicitation SB1341-03-R-0003 will be issued on or about November 20, 2002. The solicitation, any amendments to the solicitation and questions and answers related to the solicitation will be available at www.fedbizopps.gov. No mailing lists will be kept and no hard copy of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is available. Please submit all questions by e-mail to susan.brinkman@nist.gov. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government. See Numbered Note 26.
