Description
The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ has a requirement to obtain proposals from qualified sources with capability for the 36-month effort to manufacture, inspect, test and deliver the Electro-Mechanical Fuze for the M67 Fragmentation Grenade following a Bid Sample Test (BST). Following contract award, a period not to exceed seven (7) months will be allowed for the contractor to correct and or change any minor design weaknesses so as to ensure the contractor?s design will meet the Government criteria. If the design is deemed to have demonstrated that it meets or exceeds specified performance or capability and has no weaknesses, the contractor will then proceed directly into Phase I testing. Phases II and III will be set-aside as options to the base contract. The EM Fuze is intended to be a one for one replacement for the M213 Fuze and therefore, must be compatible with the current M67 grenade body without degradation to overall performance of the current M67 hand grenade. The contractor is required to submit the technical details of the design along with a projected bottom line production unit cost and the price for the government to procure licensing rights. The selected offerors will be required to submit fifty (50) Bid Sample Test (BST) units and two (2) inert units along with detailed cost, management, and past performance parts of the proposal within 4 months after Government's approval of the contractor's design. Government will reimburse fair and reasonable compensations upon delivery of BST units. A competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available approximately in November 19, 2002. Proposals shall be required within 30(thirty) days after release of the RFP, addressed to; Commander, U.S. Army, TACOM-ARDEC, Attn: Anna Yim, AMSTA-AQ-APD, Bldg 10, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. All responses to this notice shall be done so in writing in the English language. See numbered Note 26.
