The government cannot guarantee a bidder will be added to the bidders list if registration is not confirmed via email or fax. SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING DRAWINGS, WILL BE AVAILABLE ON CD ONLY. Anticipated solicitation issue date is 22 November 2002. PROJECT INFORMATION: Contractor shall remove the surface bypass collector (SBC) and the simulated wells intake (SWI) from the powerhouse structure on the dam. SBC and SWI are located in the reservoir immediately upstream from powerhous e units 4, 5 and 6. SWI is located underwater and SBC floats in the water and is attached to the dam with structural steel floating guides (brackets). The top of the SBC is above water with most of the structure underwater. All mounting brackets for SBC and SWI are located underwater. Approximately 1,000,000 pounds of structural steel was used for original construction of the SBC and SWI. A considerable amount of underwater diving work will be required of depths up to 110 feet. Diving will be surface supplied air. Recompression chambers are required. The majority of the removal work will be performed from the water so barges, barge mounted cranes, and other floating plant will be necessary. Modules of the SBC and SWI removed from the dam can be take n to the north shore storage area and reduced to smaller sizes to facilitate transport off the project site for disposal. All removed items will become property of the contractor and removed from the project site,except for miscellaneous items. Removal f rom the project site can be by barge or truck. Place of performance is Lower Granite Dam, Whitman and Garfield Counties, Washington. No hazardous materials are involved. ADMIN INFO: This project is considered a ?Dismantling, Demolition, or Removal of Imp rovements? (DDR) type contract. As such, the Service Contract Act applies. The standard industrial classification code (SIC) is 1795 and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 235940. FSC is P500. The small business size stand ard is average annual receipts for the previous three fiscal years must not exceed $12,000,000. All responsible business sources may submit a bid, which may be considered.
