Description

The National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center, is soliciting Proposals for Digital Production Services for Print Media. Digital Production Services for Print Media requires bringing a visual comprehensive plan successfully to pre-press ready condition by precisely placing all text and image boxes, assessing the appearance of typography, recommending kerning or editorial assistance for optimal rag-right, rag-left line endings, adjusting word or letterspacing within lines of copy, creating or refining clipping paths, manipulating or refining color on supplied high-resolution scans to achieve either the visual effect intended by the designer or enhancing the contrast between a graphic and surprinting copy, creating or refining montage graphics that may use a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop applications, and responding to adjustments required after internal reviews. The files created will be pre-press ready, with the exception of trapping, and suitable for submission to GPO contract printers for the manufacturing processes. All work shall be fully compatible with NPS digital-production methods. The technically complex, time-sensitive, and interrelated nature of the NPS publication effort requires on-site use of programs licensed to the NPS, access to HFC internal servers, consultation with other project team members, and an absolute coordination between the programs. In order to qualify for consideration, experience with a high-volume, recurring series Print Media production studio or office is required. The Government anticipates award of one Indefinite Quantity Fixed-Priced contract. This contract will be negotiated for one year with priced options for four additional years. The contract will be negotiated with a minimum workload of 500 hours and a maximum workload limit of 1900 hours for task orders issued during each 12-month period. The Solicitation will be available via Electronic Commerce on or around November 25, 2002. No paper copies will be issued.
