Description
The Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation Administration Service Center (TASC), plans to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for armed security guard support services at the DOT headquarter buildings in Washington, DC. Release of the solicitation is planned for early CY2003. The solicitation will ultimately be distributed electronically via the Government?s electronic posting Web site at http://www.eps.gov (reference solicitation DTTS59-03-R-00001 under the Department of Transportation, Transportation Administrative Service Center) so FIRMS SHOULD NOT RESPOND TO THIS NOTICE BY REQUESTING TO BE PLACED ON A SOLICITATION MAILING LIST. The applicable NAICS code is 561612. Award of a firm-fixed-priced contract by June 30, 2003 (to effect a ninety day transition period) with a base year (commencing October 1, 2003) and four option years is anticipated. A decision on the acquisition approach (i.e., full and open competition versus an 8(a) or other set-aside competition) has not been made; a pre-solicitation synopsis will be issued once a determination has been made. The Government is posting this announcement to obtain and assess information on the capabilities of potential offerors by business type (i.e., large, small, 8(a), HUBZone) in order to make its set-aside determination. Potential offerors are requested to provide a brief (not to exceed 3 pages) overview of the company which shall specifically indicate the type of business (large, small, 8(a), HUBZone) and shall include the overall number of security guard employees, number of armed guard employees, and annual revenues for the proceeding three years. In addition, the information shall include three references of work comparable in scope currently being performed (not to exceed a total of one (1) page per reference). Each reference shall include the Government agency or business to whom services are provided, the contract/project period of performance, the name and phone number of the customer project officer, contract number and dollar value, and a brief description of the services being provided (e.g., number of guard posts, whether guards are armed, etc.). The information shall be submitted via electronic mail to theresta.lanier@tasc.dot.gov by 4:00 p.m. on December 4, 2002.
