Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Firstmark Aerospace, Durham, NC for the procurement of no more than 150 MC-2000 Magnetic Compass Calibrator Sets (MCCS). The MCCS is an organizational level group of Support Equipment (SE) used to generate accurate magnetic heading references, which are used to characterize magnetic azimuth detectors and to calibrate aircraft compass systems. The MC-2000 performs the same functions as the existing MC-1000 (AN/ASN-673) and has been in use by the USAF since the early 1990's. Improvements over the MC-1000 include ease of use, reliability, performance, and supply support. The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. The Government does not own the complete current data, drawings, and other specifications to permit full and open competition. Additionally, Firstmark Aerospace is the only source of supply capable of providing an off-the-shelf non-developmental item within the time required. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses must be received within 15 days of publication of this notice. The Point of Contact is Ms. Elaine Lovering,(732) 323-5221 or Ms. Rayann Maddock (732) 323-4045. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (06-NOV-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 12-NOV-2002. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
