- Description
- This procurement is enacted to provide/acquire Oral Surgeon Services at the USPHS Indian Health Service (IHS), Health Care Facility in Lame Deer, Montana on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures pursuant to the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.1 and FAR 37.104 Personal Services. The IHS intends on awarding a firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract for one (1) base year. Prospective contractors are requested to provide an offer for the base year as specified in the package. MAJOR DUTIES: Specific work duties and services that the contractor shall provide under this contract shall provide include, but not be limited to the following: Adheres to established Indian Health Service hospital and health care policy and procedure related to job function. Performs conscious sedation and Nitrous Oxide delivery and monitoring to patients. Performs dental procedures associated with Oral-Maxillofacial surgery; including, but not limited to extraction of erupted teeth; surgical extractions of reduction of the maxilla and mandible; biopsies of both hard and soft tissue including excision. Performs a variety of supportive and technical duties, which facilitate the work of the Chief Dental Officer and Dental Department Staff. Performs a variety of technical dental assistant duties. Receives and prepares patients for dental treatment. Prepares materials and equipment for use in treating patients. Assists staff in the treatment of patients. Performs dental radiography work. Maintains records of appointments, examinations, treatments, and supplies. Receives and schedules patients for treatment and takes any needed X-rays. Schedules surgical operations. Obtains operating room (OR) supplies, removing used and contaminated material from the OR. Must have a knowledge and understanding of dental radiology including radiographic principles, intraoral, and extraoral techniques. Using such knowledge, employee records patient information such as medical history, treatment, and examination information; operates dental X-ray equipment to take intra and extraoral radiographs; routes patients for medical tests and services; and ensures patients are properly scheduled for dental procedures; etc. Prepares dental treatment room for all types of oral surgical procedures, using knowledge of instruments, materials, and standardized dental procedures. Must have knowledge of sterilization techniques sufficient to sterilize dental surgical instruments and materials. Contractor obtains supplies, sets up equipment and instruments; sterilizes materials, instruments, and equipment; attaches and activates patient monitoring equipment. Places orders and inventories all dental supplies. Performs a variety of scrub duties, including sanitizing patient's face and drapes the patient with sterile sheets and towels. Performs a variety of surgical procedures performed in the dental clinic. Monitors patients under anesthesia, using knowledge of and skill in detecting signs of syncope, shock, etc. Applies, changes, and removes surgical dressings and sutures. Provides instructions to patient for post-treatment, oral hygiene instruction and care of prosthodontic appliances. As well as other duties not specified here. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA): Applicants must describe their present/previous experiences with the following KSA evaluation requirements in their application/proposal. 6.) Best value price evaluation criteria submitted by the contractor. An indication as to what hourly rate the contractor is willing to work for. $ 7.) Credentialing Documents, Requirements and any degrees conferred by an accredited agency 8.) Required Questionnaire for Child Care Positions 9.) Copies of Unrestricted Licenses; Copy Board Certificate or Board Admissibility 10.) A statement of contractor health status 11.)
