Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with GAMBRO for the purchase and installation of a central water purification system product number 080247309 and concentrate system product number 080247307 to include all components for the distribution loop, chase boxes and connections. The equipment is to be installed during the current renovation of the hemodialysis unit at this medical center. The equipment must be able to support 24 dialysis machines. The system must have an automated control system that is programmable for alarm limits and operational parameters for system functions that include operational and standby modes, hot water, chemical disinfection, and water savings. The RO pump must be stainless steel. The system must maintain a distribution loop minimum water temperature of 85C through a 150 meter loop length. The distribution loop must be a DI manifold assembly that includes an automated resistively monitoring with a range of 0-20 Megohm and DI divert system, an ultra filter at the beginning of the distribution loop including stainless steel housings and upstream and downstream pressure gauges, quick connect stainless steel fittings and medical cross linked polyethylene distribution piping. Response time for service during warranty period must be within two hours and a field staff engineer must be on site within 48 hours of receiving the call for service. The distribution loop is to be provided by the system contractor but the installation will be accomplished by the construction contractor presently performing the renovation of the space. The distribution loop must be received not later then December 31, 2002. The remainder of the system shall be installed by the system contractor. The VA believes that GAMBRO is the only company that can provide this equipment and its components. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above minimum requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Office, VA Medical Center, Hampton, Va 23667. Responses received will be evaluated however a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based upon resonses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received the Hampton VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with GAMBRO.
