- NAICS Code: 5416 The Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Acquisition Management, Superfund Program Management and Regional Coordination Service Center is seeking a contractor to provide support for the development of a functional rating system for electronic equipment to minimize environmental impact throughout its life cycle. The anticipated contract is a small business set-aside. The contractor shall provide active federal engagement in the development of a functional rating system for electronic equipment that has been designed to minimize environmental impact throughout its life cycle and to design and implement the Federal Electronics Challenge with the White House Task Force on Recycliing. In addition, the contractor shall work with the federal community, manufacturers and non-profits to develop and implement environmentally sound management practices for their electronic equipment. This will require developing best management practices, providing technical assistance for implementation and creating the interface between the federal agencies and industry. The contractor shall also assist in the development of a recognition program for federal agency leaders and the transference of knowledge, resources and information between federal agencies regarding electronics stewardship. The contractor shall also develop and deliver outreach materials and program technical support to the federral community to aid in the adoption of these intended practices. This requirement will be issued by electronic solicitation only. EPA anticipates issuing a formal RFQ by December 2, 2002.
