Description: The National Park Service is issuing a solicitation (Request for Proposals) for the restoration of twenty-four (24) existing historic metal window units, including new hollow metal spandrel panels and frames to match the historic existing window units in the Ferry Building covered corridor at Ellis Island. The solicitation, including the specifications and wage determination, will be posted to the websites, http://www.fedbizopps.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about December 10, 2002. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed or issued directly from the contracting office. TELEPHONE, VERBAL, EMAIL OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE RECOGNIZED OR HONORED BY THE GOVERNMENT. To gain a full understanding of the requirement, interested contractors are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit. A site visit for this solicitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 19, 2002 at 1:30 PM, local time. Each contractor may send up to three (3) attendees to represent their company at the site visit. Interested contractors must provide the following individual personal information for all who are proposed to attend the site visit: full name, home address, date of birth, sex, race, height, weight, eye color, hair color, and social security number. The individual personal information will be used by the Government to perform security related background investigations on all personnel proposed to attend the site visit. Subsequent individual approval or disapproval of proposed site visit attendees will be determined by the Government. If your company is interested in sending representatives to attend the site visit, you must contact Ryan Parker, Contract Specialist, at 212-363-3206 x114, or Caval Ordde, Procurement Technician, at 212-363-3206 x126 and provide the above specified individual personal information of all proposed attendees no later than 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2002. The work consists of furnishing all equipment, supplies, material, labor, incidentals, transportation and supervision for the restoration of twenty-four (24) existing historic metal window units, including new hollow metal spandrel panels and frames to match the historic existing window units in the Ferry Building covered corridor at Ellis Island. The place of performance for this contract is Ellis Island, NJ. Ellis Island is accessible by boats and by a temporary construction bridge linking Ellis Island to Liberty State Park, Jersey City, New Jersey. The bridge may be used by the Contractor to transport equipment, supplies, materials, tools, and personnel. Based on the magnitude of this project, the price is estimated to be between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The NAICS code for this project is 235910 with a size standard of $12,000,000.00. This acquisition is being issued pursuant to the "Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program Act of 1988 (Public Law 100-656)" and subsequent award will be subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Program. Therefore, this solicitation is issued unrestricted.
