- Description
- This is a solicitation notice for a proposed construction contract for the installation of Government provided Rauland Communications, Inc Responder IV Nurse Call components on the Third floor of Building 81 at the American Lake Division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The VA is seeking a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision for the proposed contract with the exception of the provision of certain Government provided components. Physical project scope will be to install approximately 200 nurse call components, conduit and raceway and a central nursing station control unit and all required connectivity work. At the conclusion of the subject contract, the contractor will turn over to the VA a completely operational nurse call system. During installation of nurse call system, the contractor will provide and maintain a temporary wireless nurse call system which will be turned over to the VA at the conclusion of the contract work. The contractor must be a Rauland Communications Inc. certified installer contractor or retain a Rauland Communications Inc. certified installer. Work will include, but is not limited to, the following: demolition, , electrical, communication wiring, and various interior finishes. There will be a pre-bid site inspection o/a September 4, 2002 at 10 AM in Building 17 Room 113 at the American Lake Division, Tacoma, WA. The construction cost range is $50,000 to $100,000. This will be a phased construction contract. Contract completion time will be 90 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The VA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed price contract. This will not be a small business set aside solicitation. The NAICS classification is 235310. The small business size standard is $27.5 million average annual receipts for 3 preceding fiscal years. Construction document bid packages will be available o/a August 21, 2002. As authorized by FAR 5.102(a)(7), solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the VA Business Opportunities System website, http://www.va.gov/oa&mm/busopp/sols.htm. The drawings are in .cal format, and can be viewed after downloading the FastBid viewer at no charge from http://fastbid.goe.to/. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and any amendments, and should re-visit the VA website periodically to look for any updates. Bid opening date will be September 20, 2002 at 2 PM and will be held in Room 103, Building 17 at the American Lake Division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, 9600 Veterans Way; Tacoma, WA 98493.
