Description
This announcement is to inform all interested companies that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be holding an Industry Day for the Global Weather Information System (GWIS) Program. The GWIS will be the next generation weather and radar processor with capabilities to gather, process and disseminate aviation weather data to the Meteorologists, Area Supervisors, Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) and other data users in the National Air Space (NAS) en route domain. This is the follow-on acquisition of the Weather and Radar Processor (WARP) Program under the FAA?s Weather Integrated Product Team (IPT). The Industry Day will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at the FAA Headquarters? 3rd Floor Auditorium, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding by 11:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. The address is: Federal Aviation Administration FAA Auditorium (3rd Floor) 800 Independence Ave, SW Washington, DC 20591 (Adjacent to the L?Enfant Plaza Metro Subway Stop) The FAA will provide a short briefing on the new GWIS Program and the existing WARP System. The briefing slides will be available by December 5, 2002 at the following website: http://www.faa.gov/aua/ipt_prod/weather/gwis/ Potential offerors may submit questions regarding the briefing or the program to the following e-mail address by COB December 9, 2002: Brian.Anderson@faa.gov The FAA GWIS Team will provide answers to all questions possible at the industry day, with final answers posted to the above website by December 20, 2002. Companies should limit attendees to no more than five (5) individuals from each firm. Firms planning to attend are also encouraged to submit their company name and number of attendees to the above e-mail address by COB December 9, 2002.
