- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard is looking for certified HUBZone firms that may be interested, and have the capabilities to perform a variety of facilities support services under a "mini" Base Operating Support Services (BOSS) contract. The support services are to be performed at Air Station Barbers Point and various other sites in Honolulu, HI. A competitive, HUBZone, small business set-aside is anticipated. Support services may include: grounds maintenance; tree trimming; preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial equipment such as: water softeners, air conditioning units, oil/water separators, and galley equipment; janitorial services; grease trap cleaning services; aircraft hanger scrubbing services; runway and street sweeping; pest control; regular and foreign trash collection and disposal; and recycling services. Estimated contract period is 1 October 2004 through 30 September 2005, with four, one-year priced option periods. The HUBZone firm must meet the limitations for subcontracting requirements (FAR 52.219-14) which states: "at least 50% of the cost of contract performance incurred for personnel must be expended for employees of the concern." The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 561210 (base maintenance) with a size standard of $23 million. The concern must be a HUBZone small business concern as defined in CFR Title 13, Part 126.103. In accordance with CFR Title 13, Part 126.200, at least 35% of a HUBZone certified firms employees must reside within a HUBZone. The resultant contractor must maintain the minimum 35% HUBZone employee requirement throughout the performance of this contract. A firm's continued HUBZone certification will be confirmed prior to exercising any options under the contract. Firms that have been certified as a small business HUBZone by the SBA, and have the interest and capabilities to perform a variety of services under such a contract, should submit the following information by 3 March 2003 to Ms. Lynne Beard at lbeard@d14.uscg.mil: Company Name and Address; Company POC, including telephone and facsimile numbers, and email address; and a summary of the company's capabilities (past and current) to satisfactorily perform a variety of facilities support services under one contract.
