Description
NOTE THAT THIS IS A READVERTISEMENT OF THE PREVIOUS REQUEST FOR QUOTATION NO. AFQ020007. THIS IS A COMBINATION SYNOPSIS AND REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (AFQ030002). All requirements stated in the former RFQ remain the same except for the phase involving transportation of chipped vegetative debris. The Bureau of Land Management, Yuma Field Office has a requirement for clearing of approximately 80 acres of naturally vegetated, unimproved land. Request for quotation will be made available two (2) weeks after this advertisement. The work site is located approximately 10 miles north of the City of Yuma, along the southwest bank of Mittry Lake. The performance period of this contract shall be approximately six weeks. Clearing and removal operations within the proposed project area will be timed to avoid the breeding season of Yuma clapper rail (April 15 through September 30) and Southwestern Willow Flycatcher (May 1 through August 15). The contractor is to furnish equipment, transportation, labor, supervision, supplies, and materials to clear, pile, shred and remove heavily growing saltcedar (Tamarix ramosissima) from approximately 80 acres of project land. Project area should additionally be root-knifed to extract saltcedar root balls. All brush, root balls, and miscellaneous vegetative debris shall be shredded to a size no greater than 9 cubic inches. Shredded vegetative debris will then be stockpiled for drying/curing at specified locations within the project site. Transportation of shredded vegetative debris suitable for energy extraction such as combustion IS NOT necessary for inclusion in the resulting contract. Prospective bidders are encouraged to visit the site. Additional information about the location and work requirements may be obtained by calling Jericho E. Lewis, Contracting Officer @ 928-317-3251 or Jennifer Green, Natural Resource Specialist, at 928-317-3234.
