Description

Contract Number: N00421-99-D-1210. SPECIAL NOTICE: MODIFICATION TO A PREVIOUS NOTICE POSTED ON 11/08.02. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, Maryland intends to negotiate with the incumbent, Logistic Services International, Inc.(LSI), 6200 Lake Gray Blvd., Jacksonville, FL on a sole source basis for the procurement of continued support on the existing contract for design, development, refinement, and revision of training products for the Weapon Systems Technical Training Program Office. This action is a sole source modification to an existing contract N00421-99-D-1210 to LSI, which will increase the potential contract labor hours through contract completion on 4 February 2004. The anticipated award for this sole source modification is 31 December 2002. The applicable NAICS Code is 541330 (Engineering Services). LSI will provide the continued services necessary to develop and/or update the training products (e.g. Traditional Courseware, Computer Aided Instruction Courseware, Computer Based Training, Web Based Training, Front End Analyses, Training Situation Analyses) as it is necessary to continue operations due to growth until a competitive acquisition is awarded. A follow-on contract, Solicitation N00421-02-R-3228, is being posted in FBO for Sources Sought. This procurement modification to an existing contract to LSI is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C., 2304(c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. While this special notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may identify their interest and technical capability to respond to this requirement and may submit information which shall be considered by the Naval Air Systems Command. See Note 22.
