- THIS NOTICE ANNOUNCES A QUESTIONNAIRE TO INDUSTRY FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING MARKET RESEARCH RELATING TO A PENDING SOLICITATION FOR PAINTS FOR USE ON GOVERNMENT VESSELS. THE QUESTIONNAIRE IS AVAILABLE AT MSC WEB SITE (http://www.msc.navy.mil) UNDER CONTRACTS, REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION/MARKET SURVEYS. THE GOVERNMENT REQUESTS INDUSTRY FEEDBACK THROUGH THIS QUESTIONNAIRE REGARDING RECOMMENDED CHANGES TO THE CURRENT CONTRACT IN ORDER TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF PROVIDING PAINTS AND RELATED SERVICES TO THE MSC FLEET; DECREASE ADMINISTRATIVE IMPACT ON GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY; AND INCORPORATE BEST COMMERCIAL PRACTICES. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. A COPY OF THE CURRENT CONTRACT (N00033-99-D-8007) ALSO WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE MSC WEB SITE ON OR ABOUT 12/02/2002. THE CURRENT CONTRACT EXPIRES MO/YR. IT IS AN INDEFINITE-DELIVERY, INDEFINITE QUANTITY TYPE (MIN. 100,000 GALLONS/MAX. 717,259 GALS. OVER FIVE YEARS)FOR PAINT, COATINGS, SOLVENTS, PRESERVATION PRODUCTS, AND PROGRAM SUPPORT FOR THE MSC FLEET PAINT PROGRAM. THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO CONSIDER ALL INFORMATION AND COMMENTS RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS WHEN DEVELOPING THE SOLICITATION. FIRMS INTERESTING IN BEING ON THE SOLICITATION BIDDERS LIST ARE REQUESTED TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: DESCRIPTION OF FIRM'S CAPABILITIES POINTS OF CONTACT SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STATUS Responses are requested via facsimile or email at the address and phone number below by 6 December 2002. Prospective offerors are invited to provide comments or alternately are welcome to schedule a meeting with Government representatives the first two weeks of December (2-13 December 2002) to discuss their recommendations, industry practices, and their firm?s products and services.
