Description
THE "BUREAU OF EXPORT ADMINISTRATION" (BXA) HAS BEEN RENAMED TO THE "BUREAU OF INDUSTRY AND SECURITY" (BIS), TO REFLECT MORE ACCURATELY THE BROAD SCOPE OF THE AGENCY'S RESPONSIBILITIES. The Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security is seeking conference facility and sleeping accommodations only to hold the Bureau of Industry and Security's Annual Update Conference. The facility shall be located in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area within a short walking distance (10 minutes), or not more than a 15 minute subway ride to the Department of Commerce located at 14th & Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. This is a three-year procurement with first year being held in early fall 2003. The COTR reserves the right to determine the exact date for the conference within the first two weeks of October based on facility availability and will have first option on facility space. The conference is a two-day program that shall begin with early arrival on the day before the conference. A pre-registration reception shall take place the evening before the conference with optional pre-conference training sessions that may take place the day before the main event. Registration shall begin at 7:30 each morning. Sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. each day. The conference cannot be held over holidays or weekends. The conference shall be held Monday through Friday only. The Plenary Session Meeting Room shall accommodate. 650-700 participates.
