Description

Trawl vessel with a minimum registered length of 160 ft, needed to perform research charter to test acoustic recording devices. Charter to last approximately 7 days. Experimental fishing in which the vessel retains the catch, will be allowed approximately 4 of those days. Vessel must have: a crane capable of lifting 5 mt for handling buoy and hydro-acoustic gear; chart table; dry counter work space with power outlets on the bridge for government computers and printer; office desk area with power outlets; a 14 ft skiff with minimum 15hp outboard motor; accommodations for crew and up to 6 scientists which may be of mixed gender; minimum crew shall consist of a Captain, a cook-fisherman, a engineer-fisherman, and a lead fisherman. Performance begins and ends in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Performance may occur between February 1, 2003 and April 30th 2003. The issuance and closing dates listed for this solicitation are estimates.
