- Description
- The beams that propagate from the laser systems at our calibrations facilities have a poor intensity profile. A laser beam homogenizer is needed for application in both the short pulse, and long pulse laser labs. At a very simplistic level, we want to put this optic into the beam path, and have the output from the optic have a uniform intensity. The optic will not be sensitive to incidence angle. The following table will give more information on the specifications we want for the optic. Table 1: Specifications for Homogenizers Wavelength Intensity variation Efficiency Damage Threshold 532 nm 1 % 70 % 100 mJ 355 nm 1 % 70 % 50 mJ 213 nm 1 % 70 % 10 mJ 800 nm 1 % 75 % 10 mJ 400 nm 1 % 75 % 2 mJ 200 nm 1 % 75 % 0.2 mJ The homogenizer should work in a minimal area, as space is limited to 3-5 feet for the optic. It should also have a clear aperture of 10mm diameter or better.
