- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration, Great Lakes Region, intends to solicit proposals and award a contract to one general contractor for construction of an administrative base building and link to the existing Airport Traffic Control Tower at Ann Arbor Municipal Airport, Michigan. The contract will have a performance time of 270 days with an anticipated construction start date in the spring of 2003. The estimated procurement is between $1M and $1.5M. The new structure will be a one-story, masonry, commercial office type structure of approximately 4485 square feet. The building will be constructed on a concrete slab with concrete foundation and spread footings. The exterior walls will be 8? shadow type CMU with an insulated, metal stud and gyp board backup wall. The interior walls are of several types of CMU, metal stud and gyp board and ceramic tile. The sloped roof is an insulated, metal frame with standing seam exterior sheathing. The building will have the fo! llowing: metal soffit, fascia, gutters and drain leaders; fixed glass and metal frame and sash windows; gas fired, forced air furnaces and split system air conditioning system. The site shall be completely enclosed by an 8? high cyclone security fence. (The FAA facility site is approximately 1.067 acres.) An asphalt, 15-car parking lot is also part of the scope of work. The following notice is for information purposes for minority, woman-owned, and disadvantaged enterprises: The DOT OSDBU has programs to assist minority, woman-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for DOT related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
