Description

This notice serves as Notice of Intention to issue a Prospectus for Operation of Guided Interpretive Horseback Rides within Zion National Park. The National Park Service is releasing a concession Prospectus authorizing the continued operation of guided horseback rides using designated trails within Zion National Park. This service operates out of facilities within the park and is seasonal in nature with the season beginning in March and ending in October. Stock is moved from the park in the off-season. The annual gross receipts over the past 5 years averaged approximately $175,000 per year. The current Concession Contract expires December 31, 2002. One contract will be issued for this commercial service. The length of the new contract will be ten (10) years. The current operator has right of preference in renewal. The Prospectus will be issued December 2, 2002, for a 60-day response period. Offers for this Prospectus must be received by close of business (no later than 4:30 p.m.) on January 30, 2003, in the Concession Management Division, Zion National Park, Springdale, Utah 84767 (Federal Express address: (same)). There will be a printing cost recovery charge of $35 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $30 per copy to be picked up in person. Checks or money orders must be payable to the National Park Service. (Cash cannot be accepted).
