- The Association of Old Crows and the USAF Directorate of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (AF/XOI) will co-sponsor a Joint Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (JSEAD) Conference 6-7 January 2003 in the Red Flag Facility at Nellis AFB, Nevada. The theme of the conference will be "Space Superiority: Role in JSEAD." The conference will be at the SECRET, U.S. ONLY classification level. The chairman of the conference will be Maj Gen Stephen G. Wood, USAF, Commander, AWFC, Nellis AFB. The keynote address will be given by Maj Gen Daniel Leaf, USAF, Director of Operational Requirements who will brief "AEA Way Ahead." The agenda will include three sessions. Session I will address "Support to JSEAD" and will include briefings on the following: Common Aero Vehicle (CAV) - USAF Space Operations School; Hyperspectral and Multispectral Imagery - USAF Space Operations School; GPS/SATCOM - USAF Space Operations School; ISR Cross Queuing - Col John Feda, USAF, Deputy for Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems; Rapid Attack Identification, Detection and Reporting System (RAIDRS) - Maj Brad Hawk, defensive Counterspace, AFSPC/DRCC; ELINT - Brig Gen Lawrence Mitchell, USAF (Ret.), Director, CEMO; Advanced Tactical Targeting Techniques Flight Test Results - Dr. Peter Highman, PM, Information Exploitation Office, DARPA; Smart Targeting and Identification via Networked Geolocations (STING) - Lt Col Ed Adkins, USAF, Director, HARM Targeting System, AAC/YAC; Tactical Targeting Communications - Dr. Peter Highman, DARPA; Vulture - Capt Donald Miceli, USAF, Big Safari Program Office; and Electronic Warfare Frequency Deconfliction - Robert Schneider, Senior Operations Engineer, Joint Spectrum Center. Session II will focus on "JSEAD Today" and will include briefings on: Rivet Joint in JSEAD - Maj Bruce Callahan, USAF, USAF Fighter Weapons School; Compass Call - Maj George Sherman, USAF, EC-l30H Program Element Monitor; Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle - Maj Joseph Viereckl, USAF, UCAV Program Element Monitor; Global Strike Task Force Concept of Operations - Major Mike Pietrucha, USAF, AF/XOXS; ICAP III Update, CAPT John W. Scheffler, USN, PMA-234; and EA-6B Current Operations - LCDR Robert D. Gamberg, USN CVWP Requirements Officer. The final session will address the "Future for JSEAD" and include the following papers: Building the Network-of-Systems to Achieve Task Force Capabilities - Col Robert M. Newton, USAF, SAF/AQPF; Sensors Forward - Col Gary H. Cole, USAF, Chief, EW/Survivability, ACC/DRK; Future Capabilities Gaming 200l - Col Kurt Lohide, Chief, Wargaming and Experimentation Div, AF/XOOW; Information Warfare in JSEAD - Col Chris Glaze, USAF, Deputy for IW, AF/XOIW; and Support to JSEAD - Commander Nees, National Reconnaissance office.
