- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA, is soliciting proposals for four (4) Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) that measure 3 axes of inertial angular rates and acceleration (specific force) in a body mounted strapdown configuration. The IMUs shall provide compensated summed or incremental angle and velocity data to be used for navigation as well as angular rates and acceleration useful for flight control purposes. The compensation shall be performed over the operational temperature range and for operational acceleration limits. The IMUs should be fully functional in less than 60 seconds after power up and should meet all of the minimum requirements subjected to the specific operational environments. The form factor of the IMUs shall be less than 2.87 inches in diameter and less than 3.10 inches long with weight of the IMUs being less than 1.2 pounds. This requirement is being sought on a full and open competition basis from qualified sources using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 procedures for a modified commercial item. The government may award one or more contracts from this announcement. The government contemplates award of a Firm Fixed Price type of contract for this effort. The Request for Proposal will be issued on or about 16 December 2002 and will be available through the Contracts Competency homepage Web site at: https://contracts.nawcwd.navy.mil/rfp-nawc.htm. The government anticipates a 15-day response time for receipt of proposals. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency.
