Description
The USDA Forest Service, Region 5 intends to solicit firms having the experience and skills to adequately perform hazardous materials characterization transportation, and disposal work. Projects may include, but are not limited to: oil spills, storage tank removals, illegal drug labs hazardous waste disposal, investigation of contaminated soil or groundwater, and abatement of asbestos containing material or lead based paint. Offerors may choose to submit a proposal for one activity (Work Item) or any combination of activities. Activity One = Waste Cleanup, Activity Two = Emergency Spill Response, Activity Three = Site Investigation and Cleanup. A certified hazardous waste hauler must perform hazardous waste transportation. Work will be at various locations throughout the State of California. This project is open to both large and small business firms. The firms must demonstrate a certain level of expertise in order to be selected. Three or four contractors will be selected for a one- year performance period with two one-year options. After award, selected contractors will compete for individual work assignments, which range from $5,000 to $200,000 with a majority of the assignments costing less than $25,000.
