- Description
- The Air Armament Command, Eglin AFB FL is contemplating a sole source award to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporations, Integrated Systems Sector 3520 East Avenue M Palmdale CA 93550 for the support of the B-2 Defensive Management System. Sources interested in providing B-2 Defensive Management System in support of the 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron (16 EWS), Eglin AFB FL, are hereby sought. The 53rd Electronic Warfare Group is tasked with the mission data (MD) reprogramming and operational testing for HQ AAC aircraft. To meet this requirement for the B-2 weapons system, the 16 EWS maintains an AN/APR-50 test laboratory. These efforts contribute directly to the mission capability and survivability of the B-2 bomber force. The test laboratory includes a ZSR-63 system (minus antennas), a ZSR-61 system, and all general and special purpose test equipment to provide a complete verification for the DMS MD files. This includes, but is not limited to, the Combat Electromagnetic Environment Simulator (CEESIM), all power and cooling special test equipment (STE), lab integration tool (LIT), bus interface unit (BIU), J and K bus ZSR Autonomous Display System (ZADS), ZSR Processor (ZP) user console, nav personal computer (PC), display station fixture (including line replaceable units), and system control and data analysis computers. The complexity and integrated nature of the B-2 DMS requires the programming of numerous data files that work in conjunction to form the complete aircraft MD. Two different contractors? systems must interface together to create a cohesive weapons system defensive capability. Contractor shall support all necessary periodic and preventive maintenance of the hardware, software, and associated support equipment used in the B-2 laboratory. The Contractor shall directly support the mission goal of testing each variable of the MD and establishing the best blend to provide the highest level of aircraft combat survivability. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties shall submit a capabilities package, which addresses all requirements listed in this announcement. Submission shall be received no late than 3:00p.m CST, 04 January 2003. Forward qualification packages to AAC/PKZA, Attn: Dona Dowdy-Merchant, 205 W. D Ave, Suite 433, Eglin AFB FL 32542-6864.
