- Description
- This project will consist of grading, drainage, and hot asphalt concrete pavement on 7.138 kilometers (largest schedule) of roadway for Arizona PFH 39-1(7), General Hitchcock Highway, in Coronado National Forest, Pima County, State of Arizona. Estimated price range is between $13,000,000.00 and $17,000,000.00. Principal work items: Construction survey and staking, lump sum; contractor testing, lump sum; watering for dust control 12000 m3; clearing and grubbing, 20 ha; removal of structures and obstructions, lump sum; roadway excavation, 80000 m3; waste, 57900 m3; controlled blast hole (vertical & horizontal) 12710 m; structure excavation, 6400 m3; foundation fill, 6300 m3; structural backfill, 6800 m3; shoring and bracing, 800 m2; placed riprap (various class), 1100 m3; mechanically stabilized earth wall, 11100 m2; reinforced concrete retaining wall (size various) 522.20 m2; aggregate base, 16000 metric tons; subbase grading B, 20900 metric tons; magnesium chloride, 520 metric tons; asphalt cement grade PG52-40, 1030 metric tons; superpave asphalt concrete pavement, 17100 metric tons; plain colored Portland cement concrete pavement, 4580 m2; structural concrete class A, 426 m3; reinforced architectural shotcrete facing, 522 m2; pipe culvert (size various) 1488 m; inlet, type 1 and 2, 41 ea; underdrain system, MSE walls, 2800 m; Portland cement concrete curb, 4700 m; guardrail system 6400 m; removing and resetting guardrail, 6400 m; stone masonry guardwall, type 1, 74 m; stone masonry parapet, 128 m; plant government-furnished container stock (size various) 19,520 each; flagger, 15000 hr; pilot car, 7500 hr; along with associated seeding, mulching, rental equipment, and traffic control. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
