Description

This requirement is being procured in accordance with Parts 14 and 36 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue an Invitation for Bid for relocation and laying of approximately 830 feet of 16-inch ductile iron pipe and approximately 560 feet of 42-inch pipe, with the option of using steel, reinforced concrete, or HDPE pipe. Constructed as part of each, the 16-inch pipe and the 42-inch pipe, will be one blow-off structure to drain the pipe and one vent valve structure to vent the pipes. Part of the existing 42-inch concrete pipe will be abandoned with a portion filled with soil cement, and other parts will be removed from the job site. A valve structure consisting of one 16-inch and one 12-inch butterfly valve will be relocated with many of the valves and fittings replaced. The valve structure vault will be abandoned; however the access hatch to the vault will be reused. The valve structure will be connected to both the 16-inch and 42-inch pipes. Work is under NAICS Code 237110. Estimated price range of job falls in the step between $250,000 and $500,000. Bid performance and payment bond will be required. The pipeline must be capable of carrying water by May 1, 2003. There will be a site visit scheduled for all interested bidders (the date and time will be provided with the bid package).
