Description

Base Bid Work; Remove and recycle all existing glass and aluminum pressure wall components at and below the 17th. floor on the high-rise and low-rise portions of the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Building, Boston, MA, including the lobby, connector and courtyard windows. In various areas, reinforce existing frame-to-structure connections, fix operable sash to frames so as to be inoperable, reinforce vertical mullions, provide new horizontal mullions to decrease size of openings, and provide new aluminum pressure wall systems. Re-glaze throughout with new laminated glass. This project MAY include: Option Work: North and South Stair Towers. Also MAY include: Alternate 1A. Eliminates continuous slots in aluminum extrusions used to secure glazing stops in place. Elimination results in exposed fasteners. 1B: Utilizes a continuous snap-in cover at slots in aluminum extrusions, in lieu of sealant joint, to cover extrusion fasteners. NAICS Code is 238150 (formerly 235920 and SIC 1793). Small Business Size Standard is $12 million. This procurement is open to both large and small businesses. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Solicitation Issue Date is on or about 12/20/02. Pre-Bid conference is on or about 1/15/03. Bid Opening Date is on or about 1/30/03. Completion Date is 280 calendar days (40 weeks) from issuance of Notice to Proceed which is on or about 3/20/03.
