Description
MARKET SURVEY REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Reference No: WMOK 03-003 Description Sources Sought/Request for Information. The Air armament Center, Combat Support Systems, System Program Office at Eglin AFB, FL seeks sources and information for an Expeditionary Fire Suppression System (EFSS). The EFSS will meet mission needs for a commercial combined-agent dispensing system that can be mounted on a general-purpose truck. System evaluation will focus on providing lightweight yet powerful expeditionary fire fighting capability that can be air-inserted and/or air-delivered to provide interim fire protection/suppression capability before steady-state fire/crash rescue vehicles are deployed. The EFSS shall be operable by one individual, preferably a 3-level fire protection technician. Agents shall be AFFF-based compressed air foam (6:1 expansion ratio). The system must operate in separate and combined application with concentric, fixed-orifice nozzle turret and hand-line. NAICS Code: 336112; Light Truck and Utility Vehicle Manufacturing; Size Standard: 1,000. ?In order to promote an environment of teaming/partnering for a possible new acquisition, we are involving industry in the very early development of this acquisition. In order to initiate an exchange of information, we are requesting that interested parties submit any or both of the following: (1) an up to 10 page paper, with pictures/sketches if applicable, that identifies existing solutions for such a unit, and (2) product brochures or marketing materials. In developing its acquisition strategy, and Statement of Work/Objectives/Performance Specifications, the Air Force may use the information you provide. . This RFI does not constitute a commitment on the part of the Government to purchase systems or services. The Government will not award a contract based on this RFI. The Government will not pay for the information received in response to this RFI. Acknowledgement of receipt of responses will not be made, nor will respondents be notified of the Government's evaluation of the information received. The information resulting from this RFI may be included in one or more RFPs, which will be released to industry. Therefore, you are encouraged to respond with information not constrained by proprietary data rights. However, if proprietary data is included in your reply, please mark it appropriately."
