- Description
- NAICS Code: 512110 The United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) contemplates negotiation and award of a sole source, fixed price, purchase order contract with Thermo Andersen of Smyrna GA, to develop a training CD-ROM in support of TSP High Volume Air Samplers previously purchased by EPA's National Air & Radiation Environmental Laboratory (NAREL) in Montgomery AL. The EPA NAREL project officer for this development effort is Rhonda S. Sears, Environmental Specialist & Manager, Environmental Radiation Ambient Monitoring System (ERAMS), T: (334) 270-3413, F: (334) 270-3454, E: "sears.rhonda@epa.gov". Specifications (Revised 15 NOV 2002): Training CD-ROM for Andersen High Volume Air Sampler (Model: FM-TSP-MB-SP). EPA NAREL is upgrading its ERAMS and recently purchased 24 high volume air samplers and intends to work with Thermo Andersen to develop an interactive training CD-ROM designed to illustrate and describe installation, configuration/operation and calibration of the newly purchased Andersen high volume air samplers. The CD-ROM will be delivered to all ERAMS air station operators nationwide with the intent that they will be educated and instructed on the following: 1) installation of the air sampler, 2) configuration and operation of the air sampler, and 3) calibration of the air sampler. Thermo Andersen, working with ERAMS & NAREL staff, will develop a script, based on EPA language, all aspects of pre-production, production, and post production to complete an interactive training CD-ROM to explain sampler installation, configuration/operation, and calibration. Thermo Andersen will work with EPA staff to refine the presentation based on the following general specifications. EPA NAREL contemplates purchasing up to 40 copes of the interactive training CD-ROM. 1.The CD-ROM shall describe and explain any cautions and warnings regarding the installation and operation of the air sampler. 2. The CD-ROM shall describe and illustrate the proper procedures for installing the air sampler. 3. The CD-ROM shall describe and illustrate the major components of the air sampler to familiarize the operator with the sampler. 4. The CD-ROM shall describe and illustrate the process of configuring the air sampler to meet EPA requirements for ERAMS sampling. 5. The CD-ROM shall describe and illustrate the process of filter placement and initiating a defined sampling period. 6. The CD-ROM shall describe and illustrate the process of ending the sampling period, collecting the filter, completing the AIR SAMPLING DATA portion of the ERAMS AIR PARTICULATE REPORT and initiating a new sampling period. 7. The CD-ROM shall describe and illustrate operation of the calibration menu, calibration panel, and sensor locations. 8. The CD-ROM shall describe and illustrate air sampler calibration equipment used to calibrate the air sampler. 9. The CD-ROM shall describe and illustrate the calibration process with full explanation of the temperature calibration process, pressure calibration process, flow calibration process, and verification of calibration. 10. Thermo Andersen shall provide the Government with full copyright benefits. 11. Thermo Anderesen shall provide a laminated quick reference card outlining the sampling and calibration procedures. One quick reference card shall be provided to the U.S. EPA with each CD-ROM purchased. 12. The CD-ROM shall be provided in a plastic CD-ROM cover with a label on both the CD-ROM and the cover which reads with the following: "Installation, Operation, and Calibration of the Andersen High Volume Air Sampler (Model FM-TSP-MB-SP)". See Note 22.
