Description
MSC's current help desk vendor has supported shipboard applications for the last 10 years. Approximately 2 years ago the helpdesk started to support shore side applications that are housed in MSC?s Corporate Data Center. With the advent of Navy Marine Corps Intranet (N/MCI), the help desk was designated the Global Help Desk (GHD) and now serves as the central call center for non-N/MCI enterprise related issues. The MSC Global Help Desk is physically located in southeastern Virginia and provides support to ships and shore locations worldwide. Since the incumbent has been operating the Help Desk for the past 10 years, MSC cannot clearly establish if they are receiving the best value for their dollar in outsourcing their help desk. MSC?s goal is to establish best value through partnering with "long-term players" with ancestry and experience of implementing best practices of the i ndustry. Being that the current service provider has never been forced to re-compete for services it places MSC in a similar situation as an enterprise that has never outsourced a help desk before. The purpose of this RFI is to ascertain the existence of possible Help Desk support providers. MSC is also interested in learning what is common industry practice in Help Desk support. Additional information pertaining to this software solutions requirement can be found at http://govauctions.procuri.com. Interested parties MUST register as a Supplier in the NAVICP eProcurement tool at http://govauctions.procuri.com. Each registered supplier can gain access to the RFI at http://govauctions.procuri.com. The Procuri System is being used for transfer of ALL information. All information can be sent through the system by via uploads, comments or questions. Phone calls and emails will ONLY be accepted if related to technical problems with the Procuri system. -- N/MCI is a Navy wide contract for help desk automation. In taking ownership of the local help desks, N/MCI now supports desktop seats, local connectivity and email.
