Description
The Architect of the Capitol is soliciting a Request for Proposal for the services of Maintenance and Cleaning of Historical Chandeliers located in the U.S. Capitol Building, Washington, D.C. The U.S. Capitol Building maintains a wide variety of chandeliers that are used throughout the facility, including original silver lead glass and/or crystal fixtures of historical value. There are approximately 91 chandeliers on the House side of the Capitol and approximately 102 chandeliers on the Senate side of the Capitol. The contractor must be skilled fully with the handling of historical chandeliers and/or special fittings, and parts associated with the chandeliers. Cleaning the chandeliers include: removing by hand parts of the unit, cleaning and polishing by hand, removing and cleaning lamps, visually checking all electrical and suspension components, and reassemble the cleaned unit/part. Only approved cleaning products will be used. The contract award will be a firm fixed price, Base plus 4 Options Years. The contract will be subject to the Service Contract Act. The contractor shall be in full compliance with all applicable federal, state, county and/or local laws and regulations: OSHA, U.S. Code Fed Regulations, NFPA, ANSI, ASHRAE, ASTMUL, UL, UBC, UMC, UPC, and NEC.
