Description

The National Park Service, Midwest Regional Office, seeks qualified HUBZONE companies to bid on the following project: PROJECT TITLE: Construction of New Visitor Center/Administrative Offices and Rehabilitation of Historic Grant Barn, Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Park, St. Louis, MO. The project includes the construction of a 15,000 square foot visitor center, the rehabilitation of a 7,000 square foot historic barn into an exhibit museum, construction of a new parking lot and entrance road, the rehabilitation of visitor paths, demolition of existing paths, landscape features, roads and buildings, and the installation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, conveying systems, sewer and water lines, fire protection and suppression systems, and building controls for these structures. The barn will be moved onto a new foundation that is connected to the visitor center foundation. Finish grading, landscaping and installation of exterior fixtures will also be included. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 730 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed. MAGINITUDE OF PROJECT: $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. TYPE OF CONTRACT: A firm-fixed contract that requires a lump sum bid. NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: This project is set aside 100% for HUBZONE contractors that are certified with the Small Business Administration. The NAICS code for this project is 236220 with a size standard for small business of $28.5 million. All bids from qualified, certified HUBZONE bidders, timely received, shall be considered. PUBLICIZING AND RESPONSE TIME: Issuance of Invitation For Bid, I6068030005 is anticipated on or about January 9,2002 with a Bid Opening date on or about February 9, 2003. The solicitation package will be issued electronically on Department of Interior's (DOI) National business center (NBC) web site, http://ideasec.nbc.gov. All attachments may be downloaded, free of charge, in one or more of the following formats: HTML; Microsoft Word - 97; Portable Document Format (PDF); or AUTOCAD DWG of DWF. Adobe Reader software is available for free download from http://www.adobe.com, as well as, AutoCad reader "Volvo View Express" is available for free download from http://www.autodesk.com. THIS ELECTRONIC POSTING REPRESENTS THE ONLY FORMAL OFFERING. A PAPER COPY OF THE SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL NOT BE ISSUED. ELECTRONIC COMMERCE REGISTRATION: Any interested contractor desiring to business with the government must register at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Potential bidders are required to have a DUNS number (available from Dun and Bradstreet, 1-888-546-0024) and a Tax Identification Number (TIN) to be able to register. Once registered, potential bidders will be able to download the solicitation package. Amendments to this solicitation package will be in electronic format as well.
