Description

Furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, supplies and incidentals necessary to thin and control under story vegetation. The treatment objective is the removal of undesired and excess trees, creating a healthy residual stand that allows for continuing tree growth. Award may be made to one or more quoters. The solicitation consists of three (3) Bid Items. Bid item 1 is 114 acres of thinning and approximately 4 acres of slash pull-back, Bid item 2 is 571 acres of thinning & 35 acres of hand piling fuel break, and Bid item 3 is 464 acres of thinning & 60 acres of hand piling fuel break. The project is located on the Kaibab National Forest, North Kaibab Ranger District and the bid items are approximately 80, 70 and 50 miles south of Fredonia, Arizona. Contract time is 25 calendar days for Bid Item #1, 65 calendar days for Bid Item #2, and 55 calendar days for Bid Item #3 or 120 calendar days if all bid items are awarded to one quoter. This procurement will be solicited under simplified acquisition procedures. Solicitation will be issued on or about September 26, 2002. NAIC Code 115310 applies and the size standard is $5 million.
